I agree he is not a t**t, and I've never called him that.
The problem is we have never really passed the ball well under him. I have no doubt he does tell the players to go and pass it but that isn't enough - you need the right players and formations. There was no point, for example, telling us to go out and pass the ball last year when we had Holt in CM and only 3 players in midfield. Against teams with 4 or 5 in midfield you won't be able to do it.
Even in our Championship-winning year I expressed the view that I thought Worthy was unproven as manager and in my eyes, no more than average. I thought he was an excellent motivator but weak tactically. I didn't call for his head because I hoped he would be able to learn and improve on the tactical side, especially with exposure to the Prem. Unfortunately there are still no signs that he has, or is going to learn, anything tactically (it isn't 1985 Nigel, "hard work" doesn't solve everything). Worse, he seems to have lost his motivational ability - there have been way too many spineless capitulations this season. Also, despite him going on a young and hungry players we have largely seen a succession of journeyman coming into the club, which doesn't suggest any foundations for the club's future are being laid.
I don't like wanting him to go, I would much rather he could be brilliant (because that would be best for the club). But I have seen no signs in 5 years that it is going to happen. His outdated approach to football isn't conducive to where I want to see my club going, an aim which has to be establishment in the Prem however difficult that undoubtedly is.
