The Whole Bloody Point With The Board "vs" The Fans

Is that the Board are almost saying "...well, only a small minority want the Manager out, so that justifies our backing him..."

It being a "small minority" is questionable in itself, but they really should not be calculating on whether or not a manager is worth keeping and backing unless, it would appear, ALL of the fans are seen to be opposing him-which will never happen, and they not only know it, but seem to be revelling in it-indeed, even if all of the fans were against Worthington, it would never translate into palpable words and actions that they would have to respond to. So their position -and his- is rock solid and very very safe, and all they have to do when it is questioned is bring out the same old "minority" mantra.

A pro-active and ambitious (yes, that word again) board would have long seen the need to take action, and done so, regardless of the level -or even if there hadn't been any- opinions of the fans. As would the Manager himself-surely if he was ambitious he would realise that, even at this situation, his chances of staying in, and progressing as a Manager would be better served by him going now, rather than grimly hanging on and being associated with under achievement and failure.
