Dear Neil,
To begin with I must thank you for your response to the last email i semt you back in December before the Derby County away game in which you gave me your phone number to contact you. I didnt 'phone you as after the game I was seething with rage at yet another inept, passionless performance from my football team - you wouldn't have like to have heard me! The point of the E-mail was to show you (as I am sure many fans have) the complete frustration of the turn around from our football club being a strong Championship side full of verve, commitment and passion - to a team the complete antithesis of this.
I am sure you have recieved a great number of e-mails, letters and phone calls regarding the posistion of Nigel Worthington and the management team. The supporters would not send you these if they weren't utterly in love with their football team yet totally concerned with the performances of the current side. The 5-game winning streak did nothing to cloud the fans' judgement of the team - we were always going to get back to our bad ways. Now, another poor run of results (no win in 7 games against largley mediocre teams) and we are in no doubt winning was 'just a phase.'
The level of performance at the majority of games this season has been poor. To name but a few I must mention Stoke, Luton, QPR, Wolves, Derby, Reading and Hull away. I must also mention the way 'Fortress' Carrow Road has become about as solid as a chocolate fireguard. 4 successive defeats is our worst run for about forty years. It is unacceptable. The quality of our current squad is shocking. I never wish to get personal about players, but I simply can not tolerate poor players who probably earn more in a month than most of us do in a year. I am sorry but Andy Hughes, Jason Jarrett, Dickson Etuhu, Jurgen Colin, Peter Thorne do not deserve the privalege of being a Norwih City player (al signed by NW of course). Does Mr. Worthington really think these players could replace the likes of Francis, Bentley, Edworthy, Holt? And why are they picked ahead of some of our youth players who are not given a chance? They may have desire and effort but to any other club they are journeymen at best. The fact that Hughes and Etuhu used to be booed by their own fans at their former clubs does not shock or surprise me. The other shock is the way some players seem to have been reduced to meer shadows of their former selves in the last year. Huckerby, Drury, McVeigh, Henderson, Fleming, Shackell, Ashton (when he was here) - all players that have lost direction despite being the real quality we have in the squad.
I admire the board's faith in Mr. Worthington up to a point. He has done a great job for NCFC in his 5 years here and when we were in the Premiership the club only looked like going forwards. It is now back to where we started under Nigel. It is a time where ths fans (the lifeblood of the club) deserve what is best. At this point in time it is a change of management. You can have stability - maybe too much now. The time has gone to take off the tainted specs and see that the current management taem is not up to the task. I cant believe we will be in the same league as Southend and Colchester next year (who, by the way both have excellent young managers whose teams play attacking football with verve - and blood youngsters).
I hope any win against a Brighton side tonight will not take the shine off the fact this club is currently on a road to nowhere with the current management regime.
Thankyou for taking the time to read my email. I dont expect a response - just recognition of the fans' frustrations. As they say, actions speak louder than words and NOW is time to act.
Many thanks (name supplied)
