Great pun in some of the carvings. I believe the head mason was Walter Lyhart. So they have a hart(old englishe for stag) lying by some water.

When Stephenson was headmaster he would rub his hand down a column and tell you who the mason was. i bet that all of that knowledge has been lost.

We had to be able to show people round the cathedral too
