Target men

So we had one target man in Thorne and the following to play off him: Hux, Mcveigh, Leon, Hendo and Jarvis.
Given that when Thorne is injured we have noone to hoof the ball up to, why did we sign another two players who like to play off a target man?
Either these players will be left out or Nigel will find a place for them in midfield (as usual) which is a joke.
Given that Mcveigh scored 6 in 8 games playing up front, why did we need to blow our budget on more strikers?
Chelsea have all the money in the world but still only need a couple of strikers.
