yup. he does it when he feels particularly under pressure

makes sense, really. If he slags off one of the spectacularly sh*t players he's brought to the club, the obvious response is: "Yeah, we know he's crap. You brought him here."

If he doesn't slag off anyone publically, then it might sound like he's taking some of the blame himself.

Therefore what's left? Slag off one of the few players who the fans are glad to have here.

Although he's going to run out of those fairly soon....
