"My point being: That the World Cup is supposed to be a carnival of football & they are already highlighting flashpoint?s & it?s Country?s previous history."
No, they are fully aware of their own history. They are also fully aware of the way that people use that history to mock them in modern times. They are nipping such behaviour in the bud early, so everyone can concentrate on the football
"If you say to someone you must not do something they are more likely to do it."
Well that's just nonsense.
"The Police Chief says "We are very sensitive about our history." Everyone has moved on & they haven?t."
So on the one hand you are defending the right of people to go over and goosestep and salute, but on the other you are saying that everyone has moved on and won't want to be doing that anyway. Which one is it?
"Why can?t they promote the good aspects of their Country & also of Football fans coming all over the world to have a big carnival."
They are. It's just that alongside doing that there are other issues they wish to address. It's their country, they make the rules. They don't want some tosspots coming over and ruining it for everyone because they think they are being funny
"Also Basil Fawlty funny walks is that really ever so offensive, I find it hilarious putting it into the context of Hitler you cannot compare the 2, one is a Comedian laughing more at himself to make others laugh the other was a tyrant who wanted 1 supreme race"
Yes, Cleese doing his goosestepping was funny because it was him with his little-englander ways that was being mocked, not the Germans. I doubt very much that people who would goose step to mock the Germans are thinking 'oh isn't this funny, I am emulating my comedy hero, John Cleese', they are thinking 'hahahahahah!!! this is a good way to wind the Germans up, aren't I funny!"
" I never saw Hitler & his army walk like Mr Cleese"
I saw plently of heiling from Hitler and his army though.
"People are always too quick to see the serious side of life because they want to be politically correct than actually making light of serious issues."
So everyone who doesn't make light of serious issues is being 'politically correct' in your opinion? I wasn't aware that you saw this as a particularly serious issue anyway. Har har har, it's just a laugh isn't it, f**king Krauts, har har har!
"This is highlighted in this post, which was then followed by the verbal abuse, there priority should be not worrying about banter & more about Al Quieda destroying the tournament with a serious terrorist attack, that?s what I take seriously."
Yes, obviously, because they are concerned with stopping people making these gestures they are not bothering with taking other security measures.
We should be pleased that they are clamping down on goosestepping and heiling, it might make England supporters think twice before making an utter c**t out of the whole country like they normally do.
