Because without his performances and goals recently we would be in the relegation dogfight, demonstrating outside the ground and basically tearing ourselves apart.
He'll leave though wether we offer him a deal or not as its obvious NW will never really rate him, and he'll be replaced by an medicore journeyman player with good "work rate".
