I agree but...

As an OAP myself life is far tougher for the young people I know than it was for me - cant speak for other posters of course. However OAPs (not me!) vote Tory in such overwhelming numbers that no Tory government would ever make the kind of changes necessary. Turkeys and Xmas!! All they can do is move the goal posts for a younger generation (as they did by moving womens' pension age from 60 to 67 at very short notice). So it goes full circle - the only way they can electorally address these inequalities is by making it tougher on the young when they retire not the current generation getting the benefits!
