You're in a lower tier, they're in the tier above you. Coins, spit, obviously, but also the occasional cup of piss. Stewards don't care. And that's just in the ground. Walking (alone) back to my car after the playoff leg there was the last time I was genuinely scared at a football match, and I resolved never to go there again. Groups of large gentlemen hiding from the police helicopters under advertising hoardings. Stupidly I had worn colours but luckily also a coat so I just looked straight at the ground in front of me and walked fast to my car. Utter bunch of c**ts.
The contrast with the Baggies - same pub as them before the game, plenty of good natured joking around with them, decent footy chat after, both sets being fair about the other side's strengths and so on - is the more remarkable because they're very close together and draw support from more or less the same area. It's like all the decent people follow West Brom and all the c**ts follow Wolves.
