I had a mate at First School from Malawi. He was called T'lindi.

I was like, seven, so this would have been 1983/4. It wouldn't surprise me if they were the only Malawian family in Nodge (or even Norfolk) in 1983. Certainly he was he only non-white kid in the school. They went back to Malawi after a year or so.
