I'm a big Tettey fan but another thing i find interesting is that Howson

Was outstanding last season during the period when Tettey was out injured. When he play a bit further forward he seems to go missing a lot but played deeper he gets more involved. Perhaps its a case of two players who like to occupy the same positions and so just do not dovetail that well together or perhaps its just that when Tettey has been playing, Neil has (as he suggested in his interview) been telling Howson to play further forward (so we've been playing a 4-1-3-1-1 type system rather than 4-2-3-1) which has been negating his ability to get on the ball plus also crowding out Wes's space a bit. He seems to me to be a player who needs to get on the ball early in games to be effective and who is at his best driving forward with the ball rather than receiving it further up the pitch.

Whoever plays it must be 4-2-3-1 from now on and if for some games we need Tettey for extra strength then it should not be at the expense of Murphy. one of the senior midfielders will just have to have an occasional rest.
