HUCKS IN CELTIC SWOOP SHOCK

New Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan has moved quickly in the transfer market by completing the signing of Darren Huckerby from Norwich, according to a fan's website.

The deal, thought to be worth around ?1.5m to the Canaries, was hurridly completed on Tuesday afternoon and the 29-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Glasgow club.

Huckerby is expected to be unveiled on Wednesday at Celtic Park, where a press conference has been called for 1300 GMT.

Strachan had previously managed the pacy forward at Coventry, where he scored 28 goals, and was delighted to make him his first signing as Celtic boss.

"Ever since I had discussions with Celtic over the managerial vacancy, I pinpointed Darren as a potential target as he has proved he can score goals in the Premiership" said the Ex-Southampton manager.
