but recognise they are difficult to carry off (translation - can make you look like a bit of a dick. Or a continental European).

Shame, 'cos they are actually really practical when you have phone / workphone / wallet / keys, and you don't want to lug a bigger bag around. Women have had this sussed for a long time.
