The inevitable dilemma for club like ours. You (nearly always) have to pay

top dollar for proven half-decent players. Who frequently turn out not to be as half-decent as they looked. Then you're stuck with an expensive, ageing lemon.

Otherwise you take a gamble on some promising spotty youths & hope one or two of them turn out OK; basically it's bloody difficult & requires a bit of patience but unfortunately a lot of fans WANT IT LARGE & THEY WANT IT NOW.
