This always irks me.

And not because I have a problem with rugby. I like rugby.

However, it is a game based on territory - and continued dissent, punishable by losing yardage, WILL ultimately lead to the concession of points. Rugby players are no different to footballers. Just people. The sport creates the culture.

In football, the ONLY WAY you can eradicate dissent is if you invent a scoring opportunity for the opposition as a punishment. Or perhaps a 'penalty corner' or something.

Dissent will NOT be eradicated by yellow cards. Letting your team mates down by conceding a goal scoring opportunity or taking play back in to you own area, is the only way you end the culture. The only way.
