Nice gesture from Lafferty before the game

During strikers warm up, he curled a wicked shot over the crossbar and hit a lad of about 8 or 9 right in the face. Young lad tried to tough it out but teared up.

Laffs came over to the barrier, noticed the lad was in a goalkeeping strip and grabbed a par of gloves and got them to him via a steward. Later as the subs came out to the bench he ran over again with a training top.

Regardless of Laffs starting / ability or not or alleged dressing room antics, he does genuinely seem to be a nice guy. Quality, that.
