Yes, that's a fair point - but I'm not saying there are *no* barriers to talent

I'm saying that a speech which (according to reports) is heavy on helping 'working class people' (whatever that means) is really not focusing on those who need it the most.

Meritocracy is basically work-ethic Thatcherism.

Yes, let's continue to remove barriers to success but let's also not pretend that this is the way to solve our biggest problems.
