Every staff room I've been in for the last 20 years or so is largely empty.

And no, not because I've just walked in, smart arse.

The reason is that generally most teachers don't spend their time there - they'll usually be in their rooms working or on duty somewhere. I'm having a 10 minute break right now after my 30 minute lunch hour (the irony) was used up by time thieves and tidying away a trolley of laptops.

Is that a violin I hear? Thought not.
