I can remember, must be a decade or more ago

When contestants were going round auction shops, rather than an antiques fair, possibly on a channel island and one of them bought a Clarice Cliff piece - plate I think or bowl. Anyway, it was just before or at the exact time that she came back into fashion and the contestants picked it up really cheaply, not really knowing much about it - I don't even think the experts were with them when they bought it - and they made a fortune.
Would love to know what the value was.
