Had the ability to score some high-profile and/or spectacular goals rather than being particularly prolific. Seemed to try harder against big teams than he did for more run-of-the-mill games.

I remember once seeing him play really well in a nothing game at home to Derby and thinking "this isn't the sort of game Flecky normally makes an effort for" and then finding out the next day that the Scotland manager was in the stands.
