McNally told us a an Caps Q+A event that we did try hard to get Fraser Forster back for the 10/11 championship season but Newcastle wanted a loan fee which he indicated would be at least £300k Specific numbers not mentioned but he compared it to be higher than some fees City had already paid that summer.

This was additionally complicated as Tim Krul was in the process of negotiating a new contract and there was no guarantee he would even be at Newcastle for the 10/11 season. So we did try but circumstances were not right at the time.

Ruddy became available so City went for him.
