4-4-1-1

Does anyone else think that formation would suit us?

I don't like the '2-3' element of a 4-2-3-1. It either leaves more offensive players shoehorned into the shielding two positions (eg) Howson else it all gets a bit narrow and congested.

A standard 4 man midfield allows for width (Pritchard/Canos) as well as a central duo with clearly defined roles (Tettey/Howson?) plus that free role behind the attacker for Wes or, in time, Maddison.

Don't like how narrow we can be at times & if needed, it can be a 4-5-1 if you need to hold what you have (eg) take Wes off and put a Dorrans on.

Anyone else not the biggest fan of 4-2-3-1? Thought 4-4-1-1 was what AN played at Hamilton.
