Michael McGovern (Northern Ireland)

The Northern Ireland goalkeeper probably knew he would be in for a busy night. Just not this busy.

By the end, Northern Irish supporters must have lost count of the number of outstanding saves the Hamilton Academical No. 1 made.

Hamilton lost 8-1 to Celtic in January. But for McGovern, it could have been double that apparently.

But if he was good that day, it was another level here, frustrating Germany time and again.

The pick of the bunch probably came early in the second half when Mario Gotze thundered in a volley that McGovern somehow shut out with his right hand just when it appeared he had already been beaten.

It was one of the very best performances of the tournaments so far.
