NBTT: 100% chocolate, s**t coffee and so on

I've often wondered what gave people the idea to, for example, take cacao beans and do what is quite a long and involved process to yield something which isn't that tasty (although it's very good for you). Although, anyone who's never had a proper chicken mole should try one without delay - it's really quite something.

This goes double for that really posh coffee that is made from beans which have been eaten and then shat out by some small furry creature.

Who thought - aha! I know! Let's take some shat out coffee beans, roast them, grind them, put hot water on it and then drink the resulting fluid?

It makes one wonder what other innovations such people have had which haven't proved quite so successful.
