Only negative for me would be his age.

This is a player who in the last 3 seasons has scored 28, 17 and 21 goals. He has done so while playing for sides that have finished 15th, 17th and 20th in those seasons.

He absolutely guarantees goals, and this for sides in the bottom end of the table. How many would he net for a top 6 side for example?

He is an exceptional finisher and IMO is the player we want on the end of things in the box and being put through by threaded passes from Wes etc. How many times did we watch Jerome miscue from 10 yards out last season?

I appreciate there may be arguments that he is similar to Hooper who we obviously sold but I do think his all round game is better. I agree 13mil is a bit steep but if you are paying 13 mil to as near guarantee as possible a 20 goal a season striker and subsequently a real shot at promotion I don't think it's a bad thing.

A number of supporters constantly moan about the club not having any ambition or stumping up the cash. Here they are looking at a 'here and now' option who can come straight into the side as the finished article as opposed to having to gamble on potential.
