of course the squad is weaker

we've gone down a division to a weaker league. Expecting anything else is frankly barmy. Everyone who comes down from the Prem ends up with a weaker squad. Realistically it is almost impossible to buy PL quality players while you're in the Championship (if they were good enough to play in the Prem they would do so). The time to strengthen your squad to PL quality is when you get promoted, when you can attract better players (and have more money)
