Must have been frightening beyond belief but they did it anyway

Was at a school ceremony this morning opening a Garden of Rembrance. The names of the 9 old boys who died just on 1 July 1916 were read out plus a little detail of them. Some were only 20-21. (My boys are 17, 19 and 21.)

Sombre day. Important to remember.
