That perspective lacks a lot of context

Farage and the rest of the UKIP MEPs have consistently disrespected the EP while drawing their full allowance and benefits. He's personally insulted a good number of them, never attends committee meetings and has just won a referendum for the UK to leave the EU. How do you expect them to react to him?

Also I'm not quite sure what you expect from the leaders of the EU institutions. Are they supposed to avoid this topic until art 50 is triggered? In the end any deal will require the qualified consent of the remaining 27 (not 24) - it's not like they can enforce their will over all the leaders. They're power brokers.
