I think the conversation with Walder Frey - a man he despised - tipped Jaime over the edge: the realisation that despite his wish to be true and good and respected, Frey was right: people saw him and Walder Frey as the same animal. That and the exchange with Brienne have set him up to go against Cersei next season.

I wonder if Gendry is still rowing? I wonder if Arya going North will meet Mel coming South - Mel did say "we shall meet again" when they met with the Brotherhood back in season whenever-that-was.
