did you declare your self-employment status with Revenue & Customs?

S/A covers the tax year, but if your records show that you started self-employment on 06/08/04, then you only have declare earnings from that date.

What you have to take in to consideration is any additional earnings prior to 6th August 2004 that you haven't declared to Revenue & Customs.
