Very true, although I think it also depends on how long-term you are

prepared to think. For left-wing voters, what is the point of Labour always returning to a centre, neo-liberal leader just to win the next short term election. They will never achieve the social progress they want that way.

A significant change in political focus isn't going to happen overnight in the current UK, but over the long term, campaigning as a relative minority party is the only way for a non-consensus party to gain power.

Who would have thought 10 years ago that the main ideals of the Referendum Party would ever represent 52% of the country.
