It only works if enough people have those deep down feelings

In a 70s England, leave would have won 70-80% of this vote.

Maybe England has changed but not as much as some people think.

Deep down there is probably still a lot of xenophobia.

TBF , it does seem more prevalent in the 40+ crowd
