Possibly...not saying it's smart.....

But it's been too long in addressing and now was the only opportunity to be heard for many,many people.labour no longer represents the working man,so that's a dead rubber...so this was it,the chance to say what ordinary people feel.politics is one dimensional for the average bod.and he doesn't feel represented.
