Those people who are disenfranchised, as you point out, have been fed bulls**t for so long

that they've voted this way. Thing is, they've just swallowed a different brand of bulls**t this time. If it helps their voices get heard, then all well and good, but surely the country needs some steering and not just the opportunity to have a shout. With all the EU funding in impoverished areas presumably going, who's going to help them now? Not a right wing, ?bercapitalist, private enterprise backing government.
