Not wishing to get into another Brexit debate but genuine question
Why is completely unrestricted freedom of movement so obsessively guarded/regarded as so sacred by the EU.
Obviously I can see that the ability to recruit people from all over Europe is helpful to certain businesses and industries but what is the rationale that underpins the absolute insistence on unrestricted freedom of movement? Is it economic or political?
