I think the way the group stage has been setup this time

Is a problem. It's really encouraging negative play. Once you have one win in the group then you start playing to avoid defeat. Yesterday's game between France and Switzerland was awful, England today was a terrible game. And more awful games to come. We now get the second place team in Portugal's group.
