by the right wing nutters and xenophobes makes it almost a necessity for any one on the left to vote Remain. Because it would be a disaster in the short term to have the exit negotiated by the likes of Johnson and Farage.

The problem in UK, unlike in Spain, is that there is almost no left wing alternative to the EU, which would maintain the EU's advantageous social policies and work directives, while also limiting the scope of destructive expansion for multinationals and big businesses.
