get yourself to Kingsholm and the rugby union supporters there will, by and large, be the same people you are describing.
Does Rugby League have these problems? Again, they'll take their fan base from the same people you are describing.
It is an ugly side of football that exists for whatever reason, but it doesn't exist by virtue of the type of people that follow football.
