I see it as a social v economic argument

the EU has more progressive and left-wing social policy than the UK in its promotion welfare state and other individual rights. So it does act as a check on the Tories in that respect.

But, on the other hand, it is driven by right-wing neo-libeal capitalist economic theory. It creates an environment for big business and multinationals to thrive through use of cheap labour and free trade.

Ultimately, the economic environment that the EU creates harms the status of working class people more than the welfare benefits and work directives help them.

Any true socialists should really be voting out - and should also be appalled that no-one from the Labour Party or the main trade unions has offered a credible voice to support Brexit from a non right-wing/anti immigration perspective.
