Russia sounds pretty dysfunctional at the moment

led by Putin, aggressively asserting itself in various places in the world, highly corrupt, and blandly denying everything ... ; there's been no real trouble in England at football for a long time, and I doubt there'd have been anything much had the Russians not been there - which is not to say there are no English thugs in Marseille - there certainly are - I just tend to think they're mainly boorish aggressive drunks rather than organised gangs of maniacs (which is what the Russians seem to be)
