and the majority of fit ones were already with blokes who were i presumed their boyfriends.

Another problem is that very often fit women are in mixed groups probably made up of a friends boyfriend and his mates, this makes chatting up women difficult.

The actual ratio of men to women when you take in to account the men that are in single sex groups and the women that are in single sex groups is something like 15 to 1 and that is not an over estimation.
