Is our economy based on exports?

I can't see us returning to being a country that makes stuff in the long term as we won't be able to compete with Asia.

I always thought we were net importers therefore a decline in the pound will hurt more than it helps.

I might be wrong about import v export.

Ps. I'm having a burger and fries from five guys for lunch.
