In the short term there's no doubt it will hurt our economy

That's not scaremongering, it's just true. Uncertainty and nervousness is crippling to an economy and there won't be any certainty post referendum of exactly what a leave vote will mean for trade agreements and all the other extremely important things that will be lost, or will require negotiation.

That in itself though, is not a good reason to stay, in the long term it could be a very good move for the UK, but I'm yet to see an argument to explain why that is. If there is one it gets lost in all the chest thumping about regaining control and booting out migrants.

Ultimately, no one actually knows whether it's a good thing to do or not. Thats why I'm against even having the referendum, but that's a different story.
