I used to go to Coventry Poly occasionally for gigs when I was at Birmingham.

The best one I think was probably the Jesus and Mary Chain, on that tour when they had the riots. It was spicy. No encores, of course, and they only played for about 40 minutes, but it was quite a fierce 40 minutes. Bobby Gillespie on stand-up drums. I *think* they were supported by the Soup Dragons and the Shop Assistants.
