Def loads better than the old Gibson ones.

And loads to like about it. Particularly the unashamedly Aussie accents. Was half expecting a spikey car to blow up and one of the war boys to shout HOGAN'S GHOST AILSA THROW ANOTHER SHRIMP ON THE BACK OF THE UTE. And Charlize was brilliant in it.

But it was all a bit Yeah, But What Of It? Like twenty minutes into the film and it has been breathlessly hooning into my lugs at top volume non stop for every one of those twenty minutes, without once bothering to drop any hints about what the crimson f**k is going on. No exposition, no actual plot at all, and then it sort of settles down, but without ever returning to that wtf-ery. You just have to go with it. Fun though.

I bet they have a dickens of a time passing their MOTs.
