what I'm saying is that the Newcastle game wasn't even an example of his natural approach being flawed.

It was a game where his natural approach was fine (because we were on top) but where he made a bizarre and illogical substitution.

The lesson from Newcastle should not have been 'row back on the attacking style' but 'don't make stupid kamikaze substitutions'.
