Sir Alex of the Neil will stay.

I think.

He's not a quitter. He's fiercely ambitious and will want to prove to himself again. His steely determination and self-belief has taken a knock, but he's strong enough to dust himself down and go again. It's never ideal having someone learn on the job in the Premier League, but he's genuinely gained a lot from a very steep learning curve.

He admitted that he recognises the mistakes he's made. I believe he will want to rectify that and prove himself.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Majority Shareholders and the Board are of the same mindset this time. And therein lies the quandary.
