He's certainly started to slip in quotes to divert blame away from himself in recent weeks

It is interesting that it was him who first broke ranks on the recruitment team (or absence thereof in the summer). He doesn't do it in a big way but just plants the seed there in some relatively low key quotes in interviews.

I agree with the post above I think he's been a bit taken aback by his inability to influence games at this level. He admitted he was taken by surprise by the pace and strength of the championship and I think the unforgiving nature of the prem has come as an even bigger shock.
