We were in a mess when McNasty took over, and he helped turn round our fortunes. Villa could be in a worse state, but the rewards for success at such an "iconic" club - famous old club and stadium, won European trophies yadda yadda - might be attractive as a new challenge.

Lerner is trying to sell, though, so I doubt they'll get a new Chief Exec in before he's flogged it, as whoever buys it might want their own "people" in charge.
